- Note on artwork:
- Clonmacnoise is located on the eastern banks of the River Shannon in County Offaly. This early Christian site includes the ruins of a cathedral, three high crosses, seven churches and two round towers. Delicately sketched by the artist, the image includes details of the so-called Temple Finghin & McCarthy's Tower with, as described by the author Stephen Gwynne as "a graveyard covered with the mouldering remains of what once was greatness" in the foreground.
