Francis S. Walker was a member of the Royal Hibernian Academy and the Royal Society of Painter Etchers. Although he was primarily recognised as a painter, he was much involved in illustration and printmaking during his working life, which was spent in London.
Note on artwork:
This evocative sea view is of Tramore Strand, located in Dunfanaghy, North County Donegal. Tory Island can be seen on the horizon. Walker effectively captures the energy of the sea through texture and colour.
